Horrific bushfires can quickly burn out of control, creating enormous stress for communities that are bound to come in contact with its path. Some individuals choose to abandon their homes, losing large amounts of money but also valued possessions. These possessions were usually photographs, sporting achievements and family heirlooms. The loss of these irreplaceable possessions can create an enormous sense of loss. For some, the emotional and financial stress may overcome them resulting in families not returning and rebuilding their lost houses, affecting the community greatly, in some cases, towns are abandoned because of this.
However, with the generous aid of charities and organisations alike, many communities are saved, many who have lost their homes now have a roof over their head. However, we must see that recovering from any disaster will and always take years to retain its former shape, whether it be bushfires, floods, cyclones or earthquakes.
